Macomb County Prosecutor Lucido (R) hires sister-in-law for key job, despite warnings
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido has hired his sister-in-law as his communications director in a move that was OK’d by the county but with nepotism reservations the prosecutor says are unfounded.
Esther Wolfe, who is the sister of Lucido’s wife, has been hired to replace Dawn Fraylick, the first communications director for the office when the position was created over three years ago. Fraylick left about two months ago. Wolfe will begin May 27.
Wolfe is an attorney, practicing in criminal, civil and immigration law, and has experience in media and journalism, Lucido said in a news release.
“I am proud to welcome Esther Wolfe to our team as Communications Director,” Lucido said. “She combines legal experience with strong communications skills. This capability is exactly what we need to continue increasing transparency, engaging the community, and making sure the people of Macomb County understand the important work we do on their behalf. Her background as both an attorney and communicator makes her ideally suited for this role.”
