Kentucky sees record early voting turnout ahead of primary election

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Early voting has officially wrapped ahead of Tuesday’s primary election in Kentucky.

Secretary of State Michael Adams says 57,380 Kentuckians used early voting on Friday which includes 33,604 Republicans, 23,150 Democrats, and 626 Independents.

Adams says between Thursday and Friday, early voting numbers have increased 75% since the last election cycle.

The numbers for Saturday have not been released.
