Hallie Shoffner officially announces bid challenging Tom Cotton for US Senate in 2026

LITTLE ROCK, Ark — Democratic candidate Hallie Shoffner, who plans to challenge incumbent Senator Tom Cotton in 2026, officially announced her candidacy on Tuesday.

Shoffner is a graduate from Newport High School, Vanderbilt University, and the Clinton School of Public Service. She initially made an announcement of plans for candidacy in May.

In her May announcement, Shoffner claimed that after nine years of running her family's farm, she had to shut it down.

"Not because I didn’t work hard. Not because I didn’t know what I was doing. But because we are operating under bad policy and total indifference from Washington," Shoffner said.
