Pima County establishes Elections Oversight Task Force

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Pima County administration announced the creation of an Elections Oversight Task Force to protect the integrity of the county’s voting system.

The task force will join existing entities such as the county’s elections department, recorder’s office, and election integrity commission to ensure proper communication and safeguards are in place when voters cast their ballots.

“We’re just trying to make sure that any of the problems that can come up during an election – not that they have come up, but can come up – that we have a process to respond to it as quickly as possible,” said Pima County Administrator Jan Lesher.

The task force will ensure constant communication between the elections department, which handles voter registration and early voting, and the recorder’s office, which deals with election day and the counting of ballots.
