Beatles are getting back to legendary 3 Savile Row with new museum to open next year

The Beatles’ Apple Corps Ltd. announced on May 11 that #3 Savile Row, where the Beatles recorded “Let It Be” and they played their final public performance on the rooftop, will be opened as a museum in 2027. “The Beatles at Savile Row,” as it will be called, will feature seven floors of rare material, rotating exhibitions, a recreation of the original studio where “Let It Be” was recorded and a fan store.

Paul McCartney said in a statement, “It was such a trip to get back to 3 Savile Row recently and have a look around. There are so many special memories within the walls, not to mention the rooftop. The team have put together some really impressive plans and I’m excited for people to see it when it’s ready.”

“Wow, it’s like coming home,” said Ringo Starr.

Chris O’Dell, who worked in the building from 1968-1969 and part of 1970 and was there the day of the rooftop concert and also wrote a book, titled “Miss O’Dell,” also the name of a song George Harrison wrote in her honor, and most recently a movie, said Monday in an exclusive interview, “I love it, I love it!”

To make up for the time in 1964 when the Beatles came to Portland Oregon, and Mrs. Permanut's father wouldn't let 10 year old Mrs. Permanut go see them.

Her Dad was a great guy and we loved him dearly, but she never forgave him for that.

In 1966.

My mom said, we didn’t think you’d be able to hear anything anyway.

It turned out to be their last ever concert.

I (good naturedly) guilt tripped them about that for decades.

I’ve been to Liverpool twice, and hoped to return one more time, and now I will add Savile Row to my Beatle Bucket list.
