(178,866 posts)2. Many years ago, I took a ferry boat from Liverpool to Dublin.
I literally was on a ferry in the Mersey. Some of us stood as close as we could to the ship's prow and sang that song. Yes, we'd been drinking, but it was so damned appropriate. Good times.

OY how I loved that song! Still do! Taught myself how to play it on my guitar. It wasnt exactly like the original but I was rather proud of it nonetheless!
