I was listening yesterday and they were up to number three on the list when I had to leave to deal with an emergency. I never heard which were the top two songs. I'm guessing Yesterday and Hey Jude because those songs I was sure were going to be on the list somewhere and they hadn't shown up yet. As I recall Yesterday was number one last year and Hey Jude is always one of the top several. I just went to the Sirius satellite radio site and could not find that information there. Somebody help me here please, so I can sleep tonight. I have an inquiring mind and I need to know.

(19,404 posts)If Yesterday and Hey Jude werent somewhere in #s 3-10, then its pretty safe to assume they were 1&2.

(829 posts)Sorry I have no answer but your logic of process of elimination seems sound, if you heard all 98 other tunes, and none of them were those 2 ... they are 1 & 2 because there's no way they don't make the list.
To me if Yesterday and Hey Jude are 1 & 2 then I really hope it's like from a poll of listeners as opposed to Beatles scholars

So, we agree on that completely.
I think Yesterday is over-arranged. I think just a cello & viola would have been better than the string arrangement & I think some light alternative percussion would have been nice. It's a legendary song, but not near the Beatles' best work.
