(5,111 posts)That was extraordinary.
I always have to watch it at least twice every time I see it. Thanks for making me think about it again.

(7,327 posts)Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, along with Jason Bonham, playing Stairway to Heaven as a tribute for Led Zeppelin on Dec. 2, 2012 at Kennedy Center. This is the full version released on iTunes in 2013.
The reason Robert Plant teared up was because Bonzo's son was playing the drums and being there to be part of the honor towards his dad and band mates.
When you can make Led Zepplin cry by playing Led Zepplin, you win.

(29,218 posts)Though I don't believe in having actual favorites for these kinds of questions, that performance floored me and the audience agreed.

(7,327 posts)Near the end of his life, (Orbison) became friends with k.d. lang after they recorded his hit single "Crying" (1961) as a duet.
His identification with Wayfarer sunglasses began when he went on tour to England in the early 1960s, and forgot his regular specs. His lenses were prescription, but some fans mistook Orbison for being blind.
Teamed up with Bob Dylan, Beatle George Harrison, Jeff Lynne from Electric Light Orchestra and Tom Petty in the group The Traveling Wilburys.

(7,327 posts)My wife and I danced to this beautiful melody at every weekly school-sponsored dance, from the time we were teenagers. Through the years, my bride and I continued to hold each other close, as we danced at her high school reunions. About three years ago, she contracted Parkinsonism Lewy Body dementia. She passed away this May, just one month short of our 49th wedding anniversary. Now, I listen to Unchained Melody, with tears in my eyes, and a broken heart.
Please tell those close to you how much you love and appreciate them. Because, no matter how many times you may say it, in the end, it wont have been enough.
May God bless you!

(25,060 posts)OMG!!! I was late and we found 4 seats in the 5th row, center. My mind was blown when a ticking huge timepiece showed up on the screen and that morphed into Time - then there was Money as the 2nd song - oh dear god, my ears and senses were so delighted!

(72,881 posts)This is great. Gilmour is great.
But, there are live performances I like better, because they're more my taste.
The best live performance I've ever heard was Sting & The Blue Turtles Band at Alpine Valkey.
They were so good by that point of the tour that I never listened to the studio album again. It didn't hold a candle to them live.
