Those of a Certain Age or (Ahem) Pedigree

Might have disengaged from Boz Scaggs after "Silk Degrees." A mistake - that voice, and his musical acumen, are still very much out there. I wish I had come upon an actual performance video, but the audio should be persuasive all by itself.

Well I got a Senator over in Texas.
Got me a judge down in New Orleans.
Bought me a Senator over in Texas
and a judge down in New Orleans.
Sometimes I call the world my oyster
sweetest little deal you’ve ever seen.

This entire album - A Fool to Care - is colossal! Do yourself a favor and listen to it a couple times with an open mind. What musicianship. Only a few times in my life have I encountered a big chunk of sound like this that incorporated such a wonderful mélange of musical influences and Americana. The Band hit me this way, via Big Pink and the Basement Tapes.
