Before cell phones ---
Back in the early 80s my parents were RVer's. This was before cell phones.
They subscribed to a service (I think it was about $3 a month) where we could leave messages that they could call in and retrieve and they could leave messages for us that we could retrieve. So we called an 800 number and then put in a 10 digit message code to hear their voice messages or leave one.
Today I was going through an old phone book and found the numbers. Just for fun I called the 800 number - I was surprised that it is still in use but it is a number to call if you want to renegotiate your student loan. Odd
I did not put in the 10 digit message code.
