Anyone else not a football fan?

Don't have anything against sports per say. I used to love watching baseball, basketball, and tennis, but lost interest when so many of my favorite players started retiring.

Football was always too complicated in my mind. A friend tried to explain it to me at our high-school games, and,I never really caught on. I think it's probably related to my math learning issues. That and it always seemed much more violent than most other sports with the exception of boxing and wrestling. I sometimes feel like I am in a very small outnumbered group of people. Even my sister who never used to be a fan got into it now.

I guess I will just play games on my phone or watch a sappy Hallmark movie. I will say though I think Josh Allen of Buffalo is very cute, but wouldn't watch even if the Bills had made it.

We had a fantastic high-school band that was award winning for years. Loved to listen to them play. I also liked working in the concession stand to raise money for our Senior picnic.

I used to go to a Steeler fan bar on the N side of Chgo with daughter.

Too many people running around. They have to huddle up after someone gets tackled to figure out what to do next. They have to come out and let someone take their spot if the other team gets the ball. Much better sports to watch than football.

Interesting fact: an average professional football game lasts 3 hours and 12 minutes, but if you tally up the time when the ball is actually in play, the action amounts to a mere 11 minutes.

Always seemed like a lot of serious injuries. I did feel bad about Damar Hamlin of the Bills when he got injured. He almost died. Apparently he does a lot to help at risk kids and in interviews he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I am glad he survived. Still wont watch the games though.

The only sport I like is baseball, especially the Cubs and the Tigers. My entire understanding of football is they have four chances to go 10 yards; that's all I know and I don’t even know if that's right.

I will not be watching the Super Bowl nor the commercials nor the halftime show. I can catch highlights on the internet tomorrow, if I am so inclined.

The only football game I will ever watch is if the Lions make it to the Super Bowl.

of sports fan at all, used to like figure skating (went to school with Peggy Fleming, sometimes shared the ice with her), until I saw the corruption in the judging. Anyway, wayyyyyy back in high school, based on information in drivers' ed, I figured out that two large body masses continually colliding was going to cause problems. Decades later, the nfl finally somewhat acknowledged something I knew in high school, and I didn't even watch football.

Sorry if that's not a popular opinion, but I am being honest. THAT SAID...my television is tuned in for Bad Bunny. I don't know who he is or what he does, but I'll watch the half-time show to learn. Anything to phuck with the MAGA's!!!!!

I couldn't care less about sports and I never even bothered to learn the rules of any sport. But realistically it's almost impossible to navigate US society as a man if you don’t know or care about sports. I wouldn't have anything against sports if they weren't used as a tool to keep the electorate ignorant and apathetic. In a putative democracy I find it very sad that most people can name more players in the superbowl than members of Congress. Expecting an ignorant and apathetic electorate to produce a democracy which functions well to provide for the needs of the people is like spreading canned corn on the desert floor and expecting a bountiful harvest.

It takes too long, it's boring, and there are too many commercials and too much chattering about plays when someone has run six feet.

My father never watched sports, he thought the networks had commercialized it too much. That's probably where I get the lack of interest. Like him, I read the scores.
