He would move forward as I stepped back. I am 5' 4" he is 6' 4". Eventually he'd be hunched over me, almost talking to the top of my head.

I've never experienced such a close talker before.

All I could see were teeth and lipstick!

I'm so glad you decided to post it. It's stories like this that remind me that there are still good, decent, kind people left in this world (including you, your wife and the nurse) especially when it seems that only people like that horrible woman you encountered are all that's out there.

Thank you for your story and brightening my day a little. Your wife sounds like a wonderful person with a quick and great sense of humor! You too!

She has to talk to a lot of people for her work...she's really good on the phone especially.

Her and the nurse both work with developmentally disabled adults, so she has developed a style of communication that is very gentle, but she is also able to cut you off at the knees...I was surprised she tolerated that shit today.

But, I think we both didn't want to create a ruckus in a room full of sick people.

My mother had AFib and had to have her blood checked weekly. She had an appointment for another issue at a hospital downtown and we decided she could get her blood drawn after that appointment. So we went down to the lab and they didn't have the order for blood-drawing in their computer and they couldn't reach the doctor because it was 4:30 and it took a good 40 minutes for them to straighten it out, with my mother bitching to anyone who would listen and even those who wouldn't. In a room full of sick people! When they finally came to get her, I could hear her bitching all the way down the hallway to the blood-drawing room.

My mother was not a go-with-the-flow type person. Ordinarily, she had a great sense of humor, but not that day.

He avoids this woman's dogs, but we were told that he went nose-to-nose with the cat, with his tail wagging.

had a situation comedy on TV. I'd watch every episode! (A little like" The Honeymooners", you two.)

With you at the end of an episode turning to your wife and saying, "Baby, you're the GREATEST." (Big hug.... cue music.)

(You write pretty good shit too. )
