Hersheypark almost didn’t open on time this summer due to a labor dispute where more than 200 union maintenance employees at the Hersheypark resort complex rejected what Hershey Entertainment & Resorts described as its “last, best and final” contract offer after months of negotiations.

Now, after weeks of both sides trying to negotiate with each other, Hershey’s union workers rejected a tentative agreement with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, according to WGAL.

“While we are disappointed that the tentative agreements were not ratified, we respect the outcome of the membership vote and the collective bargaining process,” the company said in a statement.

There have been concerns about a potential strike given the recent developments.
