Jill Biden says she was "frightened" by Joe Biden's 2024 debate performance, thought he was having a stroke

Source: CBS News

Former first lady Jill Biden said she was "frightened" by her husband Joe Biden's 2024 debate performance and thought he was having a stroke.

"I was frightened, because I had never ever seen Joe like that before or since. Never," Jill Biden told CBS News Sunday Morning's Rita Braver in an interview airing Sunday on CBS.

"I don't know what happened," she said. "As I watched it, I thought, 'Oh, my God, he's having a stroke.' And it scared me to death."

Biden was running for a second term when he stumbled through the June 2024 presidential debate against Donald Trump, prompting widespread calls for him to drop out of the race. He dropped out a month later, with 107 days to go until the general election, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. He became the first sitting president to pull out of a presidential race since President Lyndon B. Johnson stepped aside in March of 1968.

amid constant discord with Kamala Harris (or conversely painting Kamala Harris as that divisive figure with Jill Biden)... I'm sure there are those with opinions in either direction on the matter, but I like them both and can understand Jill's protective instincts toward Joe Biden. But, I wasn't there and have no way to sort out the claims.

Best wishes to both Jill and Joe Biden.

That said, I did continue to notice the approval numbers really started to decline steadily and never go up after his first year in office. He had some marvelous legislative achievements and the right wing couldn't wait to deluge the airwaves and social media with lies and exaggerations about his negatives. Biden was truly unlucky in that he did well with the economy--the U.S. economy was doing better than most other nations and he never got the credit he deserved for that. The Felon's horrific mismanagement of the coronavirus sadly also hurt him, since that was the reason the economy did not improve--it was not because of any Biden policies, though the MAGAts especially continued to distort things and lie with reckless abandon about him.

However, I do fault him for not bowing out after his first term. One thing that he and the Felon had in common was that they were both too old and the voters should have chosen a younger candidate. Harris did the best she could and given JB's declining ratings, would have been better off to voice disagreements on some policies. He should have realized the combination of his age and poor approval ratings were going to be tough to sell to the voters and he realized it much too late.

But it's all under the bridge and the American public was buffaloed again into electing an unqualified, disruptive candidate with little regard for norms or the Constitution. And the sycopants in his own party continue to, when he says, "Jump," respond, "How high?"

He is a true authoritarian figure and it is sad that so many cannot realize that when the obvious proof is there if they just use their brains.

suffered from jet lag. The week before he flew to Europe for meetings, then without taking a break flew back and one day later mounted the debate stage only to face Krasnov's gishgalloping.

I believe it would have undone most people.

Add that to his jet lag and...I'm not sure I'd have done any better, and I'm younger than Joe.

He was in Europe to mark D-Day from June 4-9th, then went back to the US, then back to Europe for a G7 summit June 13-15th. He then went straight to Los Angeles for a fundraiser on Saturday 15th, flew back to the east coast for another fundraiser in Virginia on the 18th, from the 20th did debate prep at Camp David, and the debate was on Thursday 27th.

To be honest, I was very surprised when hisdoctors allowed him to take part in the debates due to the craziness of his schedule and the fact that he was sick with a cold and on medication. He would’ve been a whole different person a week later, in fact he was. But by then the wolves and vampires had smelled blood and the hunt was on. Funny how they never do that with Rump. Perhaps his blood isn’t human, having no heart.

that destroyed almost everything good about this country. It's easy to write it out online. The work that needs to be done just to fix what Biden allowed to happen will take decades at least. You can ban me for life as you people don't like to have the truth expressed as tens of millions of us watched it happen, but many people wanted to end their lives after that debate. The Republican Party has already done that for hundreds of thousands of people. Millions worldwide.

What did they think would happen, seriously? Did they think that the nation's voters--already pummeled 24/7 with Fuckface's "Sleepy Joe" bullshit--would say "this unfocused, exhausted-looking man is ready to serve another four years?"

Obviously I'd have voted for him. Obviously I voted for Harris and would do so again if she'd run again. But anyone could see the end of Biden's campaign and administration unfolding in real time while Convicted Felon Trump spread his lips into his prolapsed anus of a smile.

POTUS Biden outperformed my expectations and faced trials I never conceived before his election.

POTUS Biden was knee-capped from multiple directions because of Israels response to the Gaza attack.

Israel continues to divide the Democratic Party, the USA, USA and traditional American allies, and disrupt international institutions.

It was not a strong performance, but he outclassed, outthought, and out articulated Trump.

Trump gave the performance of a hate-addled madman on drugs.
