(KRON) — More than 700 teachers at Dublin Unified School District (DUSD) will strike starting Monday after no agreement was reached, the teachers’ union (Dublin Teachers Association) announced Sunday night. Teachers will set up picket lines outside all of the district’s 13 schools starting at 6:45 a.m.

The union claims that DUSD management did not bargain in “good faith, walking out of our meetings the past three days without making a single meaningful offer.” DTA said it has offered proposals for the past 18 months.

On Sunday night, DUSD sent a letter to the community acknowledging the teachers’ strike’s impact.

“Today, March 8, the Dublin Unified School District returned to the negotiating table prepared to
settle the labor contract with the Dublin Teachers Association. We arrived ready to accept the
compromised solution recommended by the neutral Fact Finder brought into this process. We
came to the negotiating table today ready to sign,” the DUSD letter reads in part. “Unfortunately, after today’s discussions, no agreement was reached.”
