'I'm sick of stupid': GOP senator slams Stephen Miller's comments on Greenland
Source: CNN
GOP Sen. Thom Tillis strongly criticized White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Millers recent comments suggesting the US should take control of Greenland, calling the remarks amateurish and absurd, and urging President Donald Trump to fire people who give that kind of advice.
Im sick of stupid, the retiring North Carolina senator said during a speech on the Senate floor Wednesday. I want good advice for this president, because I want this president to have a good legacy. And this nonsense on whats going on with Greenland is a distraction from the good work hes doing, and the amateurs who said it was a good idea should lose their jobs.
On Monday, Miller asserted during an interview with CNNs Jake Tapper on The Lead that the formal position of the Trump administration is that Greenland should be part of the United States.
Miller also questioned Denmarks claim over the Arctic territory. What is the basis of their territorial claim? What is their basis of having Greenland as a colony of Denmark? he said.

More GOP congress folk need to speak out against this bullshit. Lindsey Graham has had his nose further up Trump's ass lately.

A massive call for them to be replaced with decent people could have dramatically positive results.

They could get rid of all of it by impeaching them but since that is for some reason not an option to the GOP yet, perhaps a more targeted approach can work.

(48,666 posts)One thing he hated in his first term was how many people kept telling him he couldnt do the stuff he really wanted to do, so now hes surrounded himself with people working to make all his horrible idiotic dreams come true.
Congress does have the power to stop him, Sen. Tillis, if you could just FIND YOUR SPINE.
But, the GOP is a poltroon

(2,776 posts)Tillis is an idiot. He enabled Trump to do stupid, dangerous shit and now it is blowing up in his face.
You had your chance, you moron.
Oh, sure, it is all well and good that he criticizes Trump except that it is meaningless long term. Tillys thinks he can keep his seat by playing games.

He passes for a moderate Repuke these days.

(2,776 posts)Thanks for pointing that out.
It also underscores that the bulk of these assholes performed oral ministrations on Trump until they decided to not run for re-election. They actively participated in the destruction of the country until they thought better of it. They could have stayed and fought but they took the easy way out.
