OpenAI exec becomes top Trump donor with $25 million gift
Source: SFGate
More tech money is flowing into Donald Trumps coffers. In September, OpenAI co-founder and president Greg Brockman gave Trumps super PAC a whopping $25 million the largest of the six-month fundraising cycle.
The gigantic donation is a sign of Brockmans political allegiances, and of the ChatGPT-makers attempt to curry favor with the Republican administration. MAGA Inc., the super PAC, was launched to support Trump and has become his primary fundraising vessel. Despite Trump hitting his term limit, money continues to pour in from supporters and those seeking favor, helping the political action committee build a war chest it can use in the 2026 midterm elections.
As Bloomberg reported, MAGA Inc. currently has more money in its accounts than the main super PAC for House Republicans spent in the entire 2024 election cycle. And people like Brockman are a big reason why. The OpenAI executives donation makes up almost a fourth of the super PACs $102 million fundraising haul from the back half of 2025. The money arrived on Sept. 12, according to a Thursday filing by MAGA Inc. with the Federal Election Commission. Most recently, the PAC helped the Republican Matt Van Epps win a special congressional election in Tennessee.

We must make OpenAI deeply regret their decision with a very strong and powerful boycott. I urge you to cancel your ChatGPT subscription if you have it and cancel your Copilot and Microsoft 365 subscription because it uses OpenAI's LLMs and Microsoft is a big investor in OpenAI.
If you cannot fully cancel Microsoft 365 you can get a classic plan which will also save you money. Instructions are here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/switching-to-microsoft-365-personal-and-family-classic-plans-58342e83-38e7-4cda-b63b-88604a8fb7ef
If you are responsible for any boycott lists please consider adding OpenAI/ChatGPT to your boycott list and hopefully we can urge Indivisible and other groups to add it to their boycott lists.
I really believe going forward we must make companies who donate large amounts to the GOP regret their decision to maximum extent possible allowable under law.

(13,456 posts)But when billionaires are willing to give 25 million to trump, you need to wake up: were screwed.
The world is setup for the rich. Until we get money out of our elections, there will be more Reagans, Bushs and trumps.
We were so sure trump would lose in 2016.
So sure he would lose in 2024.
I was sure bush jr. wouldnt win in 2000 and 2004 when the world hated the guy. But money almost always wins.
So dont be so sure these mid terms will turn things around.

(361 posts)Calling them donations is money laundering. Elon is adding his 'knowledge of those election computers' to the scam. The results from the mid-terms will not be, let us say, accurate. If and when that happens what will be the response of the Democratic leadership? Will they fight for us or fold their tent and go home like 2024? Will they be too timid to call out the fraud? Or, have the backbone to go toe to toe with the Guardians Of Pedophiles.
