Alaska Airlines flights were grounded nationwide on Thursday after the airline said it was experiencing an "IT outage affecting operations." … The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop after a request by the airline.

“We apologize for the inconvenience. If you're scheduled to fly tonight, please check your flight status before heading to the airport," the airline said in a statement.

Alaska Airlines flights departing from Seattle Tacoma International Airport were not affected, according to the latest advisory from the FAA.

It's the second IT outage affecting the airline this year. … In July, an IT outage halted flights for about three hours.
