The union said the new contract, which runs to May 2029, guarantees continued operations at the companys East Hartford and Middletown plants through 2029. It also includes a 6% wage increase the first year, followed by raises of 3.5% in 2026 and 3% in both 2027 and 2028. Retirement benefits also were improved, the union said.

(147 posts)Good news in CT. So glad that P&W machinists are going back to work after only three weeks of strike in East Hartford and Middletown. Meanwhile in Groton and New London the Marine Draftsmen's Association (MDA) looks to have a settlement that will avoid a strike - voting is going on now to likely approve the handshake agreement reached last Sunday. MDA-UAW Local 571 at the EB submarine shipyard has about 2,500 members. The union members really showed management they were united.
