Nebraska health officials on Monday confirmed the state's first measles case of the year in the Panhandle's Sheridan County.
The patient, according to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, is an "appropriately vaccinated child" with no out-of-state travel history. No further information about the child is available due to privacy concerns, agency officials said in a statement.
However, the state has identified two locations and blocks of time where individuals may have been exposed to the highly contagious illness: Family Dollar Store in Rushville, Nebraska on May 18 between 9 a.m. and noon, and Gordon Memorial Hospital Clinic in Gordon, Nebraska, on May 21 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Individuals who were present at those locations and times should visit and fill out the risk assessment survey at the following link: https://redcap.link/Measles_Sheridan0525
