Jasmine Crockett: 'It's Time for Republicans to Question Trump's Mental Acuity'

Source: Rolling Stone

Following Donald Trump‘s bizarre speech to West Point graduates, where the president opined on topics ranging from yachts and trophy wives to drag shows and golf, Rep. Jasmine Crockett is calling on Republicans to “start calling him out and start questioning his mental acuity, and whether or not he is equipped to serve mentally.”

“I don’t think that those who have gone through West Point expected to have their commander in chief address them and start talking about trophy wives or start talking how he has so many investigations,” she said. “What a great reminder that you are not qualified to be the person that potentially will command troops to go into war. That is not instilling confidence whatsoever.”

“It is time for Republicans to start calling him out and start questioning his mental acuity, and whether or not he is equipped to serve mentally,” Crockett added. “We know when it comes down to his criminality, he is not qualified to serve, but this is just absolutely deplorable.”

Crockett also criticized the spending bill House Republicans passed last week, saying the “cruel bill” does nothing for regular Americans while ensuring “those top earners being able to have their next trophy wife or buy their next yacht, or get their next plane.”

Crockett: They have nothing to show for it except for those top earners being able to have their next trophy wife or buy their next yacht, or get their next plane, that doesn't work for me. And that obviously does not work for my constituents.

The Democratic Party is in severe need of a lot more angry and articulate leaders like her.

Trump’s acuity is just fine, Jasmine. The moment he stops grifting, lowering taxes on the very rich or demolishing the safety net, we’ll know there’s something seriously wrong with him.

But, I've seen dementia and Alzheimer's up close and personal with my parents. Trump shows it with his long, nonsensical speeches, and answers to questions. He is delusional, holds grudges, and is quick to anger.

Time for that retirement home. Certainly not fit to be president.

Long nonsensical sentences - check.

Unable to understand a simple question, so a 'yes' or 'no' answer isn't forthcoming - check.

General mistrust of people outside the family circle - check.

And that isn't Trump, that is my wife.
I think she may have the Trump delusion Syndrome, aka dementia.

Fortunately she isn't in charge of any large country, nor has she the nuclear codes that could terminate 90% of mankind if misused.

The momentum seems to be building up for it. We cannot have another situation like we did with Reagan--I think even the dumbest repuke would acknowledge that.

But the current batch of Republicans seem to be willing to let him slide on everything. One would think they would stand up for the country, for our security and stability, for democracy, but they seem to be willing to enable him at every turn. It might be argued that they are concerned about reelection, but do they really want to tie themselves to a toxic, mentally impaired felon who will likely, hopefully, drag them down with him?

Honesty, I try to find reason and logic in all things but there is none when it comes to accountability for Trump.

They simply lack spine and maybe like the Alamo, they will be inspired by a certain Crockett from Texas.

When the oranges aren't being picked, the cows aren't being milked, the construction on their mansions stops, and the nanny disappears. The costs on their luxury import cars and goods goes up 200%? Pootin is overrunning Europe? Their trans friends and family can't get proper medical care? Their mistresses can't get abortions?

They'll care. They'll fucking care. And they'll apologize and fucking fight like we have been since 2016.

"The 25th Amendment does not allow for a president to be removed from office against their will. Instead, it outlines a procedure for Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet, or another body as Congress may provide, to declare the President unable to discharge the powers and duties of the office."

https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/amdt25-1/ALDE_00013871/

The only solution I see is a possible impeachment if the Dems regain majorities in the House and Senate and then, they'd need 67 Senators to convict...which ain't likely to happen either.

50 years ago, he would have been impeached and convicted after the second impeachment of his first term. Hell, 50 years ago he probably wouldn't have won a presidency.

"Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

"Whenever the Vice President and a majority of...the principal officers...transmit to the President pro tempore that the President is unable to discharge the powers..."

Neither Vance nor a majority of the principal officers will ever "..transmit that Trump is unable to discharge the powers..."

Those fools think or want Trump to think, he's doing a splendid job. Hell, they all want to see democracy die.
