The company thought moving to a highly military oriented area would help and they were wrong.

Armed Forces Brewery, a military themed beer company, moved from Maryland to Virginia, hoping to cash in on the more military oriented (and right leaning) population, Heck, even Governor "I wear vests" Glenn Youngkin publicly supported them, giving them $300,000 in tax incentives!

To really lure the crowds, they leaned into the MAGA triple crown of social media: misogyny, homophobia and transphobia!

The company blamed the “local woke mob,” but WHRO reports that "legal filings show a company in deep financial distress dating back years."

................... O'Neill is super right wing, bashing drag queens and insinuating that "members of the LGBTQ+ community are “pedophiles." He was also kicked off a Delta flight into 2020 for refusing to put a mask on. Maskhole.

Armed Forces Brewing said O’Neill was not part of the company after he called a security guard a racial slur when he was arrested in Texas in 2023. But, he is still on their website in 2025.

Hate, and especially the stuff from RW loons, will eventually come back to haunt because people can tell you are pandering and can't function on your own product and brand without spewing the latest talking points.

There was a microbrewery that was not far from me that I checked out years ago and although I'm not much of a beer drinker, some of the offerings they had were really quite unique and refreshing. IIRC, they had the main seating area configured with some glass-paned cutouts on the floor where you could look down on the stills in the basement. It was pretty cool.

Another case of a right wing-influenced company thinking every military-affiliated person is conservative--and going broke in the process!

There are more than a few veterans who are liberals or independents.

There are more than a few LGBTQ veterans buried in our national cemeteries here and overseas, some killed in action. In the early 1980s I had a barracks roommate for a year who was a closet gay serviceman. I served with and was mentored by an NCO who was another one in the closet in the late 1970s.

Armed Forces Brewery failed in their business because they thought hard core MAGA values were the key to success. Their business failure proves those MAGA values are the key to eventual bankruptcy; not success.
