Elon Musk boasts he challenged Putin to 'one on one physical combat' and makes Starlink threat
Source: Irish Star
Elon Musk has boasted about challenged Russian leader Vladimir Putin to a "one on one" combat amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
The challenge was put forward by the Tesla owner in 2022 when he tweeted: "I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat. Stakes are Ukraine,". Unsurprisingly, Putin did not directly respond.
Now three years on, Musk took to X and brought the one on one challenge back to light as he demanded peace over a "stalemate" in Ukraine and said his Starlink system is the "backbone" of Zelenskyy's army.
He penned: "I literally challenged Putin to one on one physical combat over Ukraine and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off."

See reply 7 for the response to the Starlink threat from Poland's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
As for the one-on-one-physical-combat nonsense...
Drug-addled Musk is clearly still impressed by that insane challenge, though no one else in the world was.
Marshmallow Man, with his ketamine brain, should be pried away from Ukraine and European policy and the US government asap.

(55,433 posts)Elon wont confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead, the Meta chief executive wrote on social platform Threads Sunday.
If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. Im going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.
Zuckerberg, 39, had previously proposed August 26 for the fight, but said Musk, 52, hadnt confirmed.

(8,911 posts)Musk has kindly documented it as being a valid military target, and being privately owned the Russians wouldn't think twice about attacking it. But it is difficult to take out.

Starlinks for Ukraine are paid for by the Polish Digitization Ministry at the cost of about $50 million per year.
The ethics of threatening the victim of aggression apart, if SpaceX proves to be an unreliable provider we will be forced to look for other suppliers.

(10,613 posts)Eutelsat, which owns OneWeb, is in talks with the EU to add satellite coverage for Ukraine.
We don't hear of OneWeb because unlike Starlink it's not marketed direct to end consumers. But they have geostationary satellites in addition to low Earth orbit satellites...
Alternatives are now becoming available, and for Ukraine the solution is European.

What OneWeb is now aiming to do is roll out thousands of consoles to the Ukrainian market so that it can be more widely used by the military.
