The U.S. Secret Service shot an adult male near the White House in Washington, D.C., shortly after midnight on Sunday after an armed confrontation with law enforcement, according to the agency.
The encounter happened near the intersection of 17th and F Streets NW.
On Saturday, local police had reported a suicidal individual possibly traveling to D.C. from Indiana, the agency said. Secret Service personnel later located the individuals vehicle and spotted a person on foot who matched the description.
As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm, and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel, the Secret Service said Sunday in a statement shared on X by spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

(771 posts)That whole college thing must be kicking in.
Why isn't the Secret Service doing another right thing?
The office of the president needs to protected from an obvious puppet traitor.
Trump should be arrested for treason, but the Secret Service just stands by and collects their paychecks.
I can't think of even one reason why I would ever hire a former member of Trump's Secret Service.
Shit-birds.

No agent and no team of agents would arrest tRump because it would not happen in a vacuum. Arrest him and then what? His DoJ would not prosecute.
Get real.

Slippery, granted, but I'm open to all solutions to save American democracy.
