Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich announces re-election campaign

Mayor Ralph Hellmich of Foley announced late last week that he is seeking another term as head of the city’s municipal government. A lifelong resident of the south Alabama town, Hellmich began serving on Foley’s city council in 2004 and eventually became its mayor in 2020.

Prior to his time leading the city, Hellmich spent nearly 40 years with the State of Alabama Oil and Gas Board.

“I’m excited to officially announce that I’m running for re-election as your Mayor of Foley,” said Hellmich in a Facebook post. “Over the past five years serving as your Mayor, we’ve made meaningful progress together—upgrading intersections, improving public safety, investing in our schools, and expanding the parks and public spaces that make Foley such a special place to live.”

Hellmich said that despite the recent growth in Foley, there is still much to accomplish.
