HO-LEE CRAP. Rep Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) just held a f*cking HOUSE LUAU with Todd Blanche, apple in mouth, turning on a spit

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) pressed Blanche — Trump's former personal lawyer — to answer questions about the decision during the House Appropriations Committee hearing on the Justice Department. Blanche admitted during the Capitol Hill hearing that the Justice Department would not move forward with its "anti-weaponization fund" following outcry from both lawmakers and the public.

"Friends, listen to what is being said here today here," she said. "This is really pretty extraordinary, that we are going to forever barred and precluded from examining or prosecuting the president, his sons and the Trump organization's current tax filings. Simply put, you just gave the president's family a tax immunity to the tune of about $100 million."

"Not true," Blanche said.

"Well, yes, you have, my friend," DeLauro said.

She called out Blanche's conflict of interest.

"The Save America PAC paid you nearly $10 million in 2024 to serve as President Trump's personal defense attorney! My God, do you not find there's any conflict of interest in what you are doing here as the acting attorney general of the US?" DeLauro asked.

Prove me wrong.

Is that what the GOP stands for? Other than tax-cuts for the rich?

It's almost 3 hours long.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113277/

And there's a thread that runs through the entire movie, beginning to end.

It's almost Shakespearean in concept...DeNiro is a career criminal, but big, high--tech heists.

Pacino's life, marriage, everything has been destroyed. In the movie, his daughter attempts suicide. But he's an L.A. detective who is as seasoned at enforcing the law as DeNiro is in breaking it.

The thread is that the movie is all about "scores"...the highest of high stakes, high profit crimes, the risks associated, the "human collateral" of lives destroyed.

And DeNiro is the white whale, Moby Dick, to Pacino's Captain Ahab.

Part of what drives criminals at the top, the adrenaline rush, is knowing they could be caught or killed or thrown into a prison cell for the rest of their lives.

TRUMP FACED THAT, and ESCAPED THAT. ALL of it. He's got $83 million he owes E Jean Carroll, and he had to put up another $7 million bond to cover the interest, but he has no intention of paying her, and he intends to kick the appeal all the way up to the SCOTUS.

ESCAPING THE NOOSE is the thrill. And because Trump experienced that on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS during and after his first term, and because John Roberts anointed him as the Christ Child, and...even if he's not dying, if he's just falling apart physically and mentally, hears the clock ticking. He wants to get away with one last HUGE heist...hence, the initial $10 billion demand, followed by the $1.8 billion slush fund, while demanding $1 billion for his ballroom.

It's like a drug addiction. The biggest "rush" in the world isn't sex, it isn't money, it isn't fame.

It's "getting away with it," and just like any addiction, it grows in intensity as long as the addict indulges it.

Putting the obvious firepower scenes that people focus on, aside....some of the greatest acting I've ever seen was in this movie....like everyone played their roles so well.

Not sure I see a real connection to the present administration. Trump ain't never put his ass on the firing line.

...it really is a good film. When it came out, a lot of the reviews said that while some people may feel short-changed by the total of minutes in which DeNiro and Pacino share the screen, the actors (and director) absolutely make the most of those minutes.

was in that movie. The scene was shot in a great place, Kate Mantilini which closed over ten years ago. I once asked them if anyone ever ordered the sheep's brains on the menu. They told me it was a favorite of Billy Wilder's and they just left it on.

1) declare the entire agreement null and void including hte irs part. after all there was never a valid lawsuit to settle
2) refer the lawyers who both sued and settled the case up on charges for disbarment for commiting a fraud on the ocurt

that may seve to deter any other lawyers/lackeys from filing frivoulous lawsuits

Not a big fan of Blanche and Grampy taking a victory lap over how Trump would have certainly gone to prison if he hadn't been re-elected in 2024.

But once he got Trump through that, it wasn't a matter of Trump reciprocating loyalty. It was about Trump keeping a guy around with a track record of being able to keep him out of prison.

Trump embraces truly horrible people, like Pam Bondi, and the second he doesn't get 100% of what he wants, under the bus they go.

Google AI search results:

Trump walked away from his Manhattan conviction with no penalties or prison time because New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan sentenced him to an unconditional discharge, a rare legal outcome tailored to accommodate his re-election to the presidency.
