But China hasn’t allowed any put-downs of other nations and leaders of other countries.
They are definitely allowing it when it comes to Trump and the influence of the US.

We saw some of the news. There was a survey of people in Germany about Trump and if they saw him as strong or weak.

Do you see Trump as Stark? (Strong) 15%

Do you see Trump as Schwach? (Weak) 85%

We love the word, schwach. You have to pronounce the first 5 letters, schwah, then the ch as a k.

The formal would probably be best, if only for respect for the office.

Sie sind schwach.

But your informal is correct.

Someone was trying to strap a chimp in for a second ride in a rocket sled.

The cult remains oblivious to what was easily the most humiliating state visit in US history.

but another point is being made, and that is that this loser will never pull this off. Roses are best propagated by stem cuttings. Maybe Xi didn't think trump could handle the stems without damaging his tiny fingers.

Yes, roses can be cultivated by seed, but it's a PITA, involving waiting a long time for the rose to turn color to brown, separating out the seed, etc. Survival rate is not very good. However, if trump gives them to an experienced gardener, they might be able to do a somewhat acceptable job. It would be hard to find someone to do it, though, as it is well known the best propagation is done by stem. Hardly anybody does it by seed.

So my point would be that they gave him a difficult task for which he is bound to fail. Loser loser loser!

You're as likely to get a mutt as you are to get a beautiful variety. A stunning rose bush can produce absolute garbage seedlings, so cuttings are used because you're cloning the mother plant exactly every time.

Endless jokes to show how stupid and unserious he is. He's too dumb to get them, but 1.4 Billion people were laughing their asses off at his expense all week. They did everything but make him wear a dunce hat and clown makeup all week. Everyone from the US delegation had to be cringing and then biting their lips when he asked them for feedback.

China made sure to highlight how confused, stupid and, inform Trump is. It was a giant mockery of him.

And Xi was in contrast strong, capable, and in control. Everything about the visit was set up to show the world who is in charge now and who can be relied on. It was very clearly the passing of the torch from the US to China as being the most consequential country on earth from this point forward. Sad.

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trump-xi-china-trip-iran-taiwan-declining-nation

Apparently, officials in Beijing were less impressed. Reuters reported:

U.S. President Donald Trump left China on Friday with no major breakthroughs on trade or tangible help from Beijing to end the Iran war, despite two days spent heaping praise on his host, Xi Jinping.

Trump’s visit to America’s main strategic and economic rival, the first by a U.S. president since his last trip in 2017, had ‌aimed for tangible results to lift his sagging approval ratings before midterm elections in November. Xi will visit the U.S. in the fall at Trump’s invitation, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

Trump reportedly hoped to make some progress on Chinese policy toward Iran, but by all accounts, there were no breakthroughs. He also hoped to advance U.S. trade policy, but despite some rhetoric about vague “deals,” the White House had nothing of substance to point to after the trip wrapped up......

Indeed, the American president who arrived in China in a position of weakness was no better off upon exiting the country. If anything, Trump established a new equilibrium that elevated the U.S. rival. As a New York Times analysis explained:

Mr. Xi arrived highly scripted, leaving no doubt that for all of China’s problems — deflation, depopulation, the bursting of the real estate bubble — the moment when China acts as a peer superpower had arrived.

At every turn, at least as he began his two-day trip to China, Mr. Trump sounded conciliatory, the exact opposite of his portrayals of China in public appearances back home, where during his presidential campaigns he has talked about the country as a job-stealer and national security threat. Mr. Xi, while smiling and welcoming to Mr. Trump, was quietly more confrontational — especially on Taiwan, where he delivered an unequivocal warning
.

....So to recap, the Republican who traveled around the planet to make headway with China left empty-handed, though he was inclined to endorse the Chinese president’s unheard insult regarding the United States — amid reports that Beijing actually sees Trump as evidence of American decline.

Trump’s first trip to China, in November 2017, was largely a flop. Nearly a decade later, his second excursion was worse.
