2. This is intentional and the articles mentioning it are read differently by his base

We take that laundry list of completely untrue accusations as insane rants and lies. His base, especially those just reading the articles, take the repeated accusations as things that happened.

He has made the coup related claims since 2017. Then they sounded crazy especially when they claimed a sitting President orchestrated a coup. Given Obama was President, how could he have been involved in a coup? Well, in 2020 we saw how a sitting President could lead a coup. However, Obama in 2016 followed protocol, invited Trump to the White House and was part of the 2017 inauguration.

As to Russiagate, the Obama administration had followed the rules as best they could. They did speak of RUSSIA trying to influence the election, but did not claim that the Trump campaign collided with Russia. It wasn't until the Mueller investigation that people in the Trump campaign, including Maniford, were found quilty of doing so. That however happened AFTER Trump was President and Obama had nothing to do with it.

To Trump's base though, this is an allegation they have heard repeatedly for almost a decade now. To them, it is now "a fact". Then since 2021, they have heard how the election was stolen and how the patriots who fought it the hardest were persecuted with trials and jail. In their view, every Trump trial was based on lies and were designed to persecute him. ( Including trials that demonstrated his companies fraud years before he was President and exposed him as a rapist.)

What sounds crazy to us, sounds like a continuation of his seeking justice against the people who used their power to persecute him. What is scary is that he may attack them with more specious law suits. However, the goal might be to disable them from being the elder statesmen of our party.
