Will do fewer miles but have to have a tankful. At any given point in time, rationing could result from this needless Iran war.

And .......... head's up to DUers! The Helium shortage is a real thing. Turns out it's a gas used for cooling in manufacture, not just in MRI's. So anything with microchips will be impacted. And I'm not sure the financial/economic press is able to handle the issue. THey say .. prices will be higher! 8% to 20%, cars, phones, computers ......... But some manufacture won't get any supply. Do you cut MRI's, or do you cut chips and what kind? Memory? CPU's? AI? Processors for various segments? We're talking rationing by price with those unwilling to pay left out. And who's going to buy at any price when consumers can't afford to buy the output?

Costs relating to vehicle ownership have been going out of sight. I am retired, and I live in a small town where stores are within walking distance. My heart goes out to younger people raising families.

Although when I was a waiter in Niagara Falls being taxed at 9 percent of every customer's tab, as tips were assumed, it was kind of a pain to get stiffed. It is a stupid system, disrespectful of workers.

I've often posted sarcastic comments that others here have taken seriously, so I started using the sarcasm thingy to remove all doubt.

Air travel is painful. I would look for alternatives like rail or driving to closer destinations. People in other countries are not too happy with the USA these days.
