(2,278 posts)the Denver City Council is still paying off lawsuits for the DPD assaulting peaceful demonstrators with lethal weapons, etc in the BLM walk years ago..........
Thank goodness for the Colorado State Patrol, whose officers were actually trying to protect the protestors from the Denver Police Dept who were brutalizing the peaceful demonstrators using lethal weapons......
The cops walk away, and the Tax payers PAY...........
(The Aurora City Council has paid out a FORTUNE for their PD's & Paramedics brutality in the past five years, with several even sentenced to prison........The two, "most" guilty that were sent to prison were proven to have literally EUTHANIZED some poor young black kid who was walking down the street after dark, doing absolutely nothing........)

(13,278 posts)They picked larger longer street and park expecting more people. I am taking back roads to further down street because of being 7 weeks from hip surgery. I just started using hiking sticks but bringing walker to have seat.

(178,979 posts)Just got out of the hospital today where the doctors found I have something called "atrial flurry". I'd never heard of it before, and have no symptoms when it occurs. I'm being medicated for it and currently wearing a heart monitor, but getting out and protesting is not recommended.

(178,979 posts)It was scary, especially when they talked about doing a cardiac conversion in which they would shock my heart into resuming a normal rhythm. I've seen to have accomplished this by myself, but I'm going to have to take a blood thinner.
I thought I had a bug or something.
Cha
(318,946 posts)to your Dr and found out what's happening.. and you all can start the healing.
Are you on a heart diet.. would that help?
greatauntoftriplets
(178,979 posts)I've had myself on a low-salt diet for years because I've never like a lot of salt. And I tend to use olive oil anyway. I wasn't told that I can't eat beef, and actually just did so.
Problem is that this condition can lead to Afib if not treated. Seems that the meds are most important.
Cha
(318,946 posts)important Meds!

The doctors speculated that it might have come on because I was retaining water. They cleaned me out yesterday, and I'm supposed to take Lasix as needed. For me, that's harsh stuff. I've taken it before.
Cha
(318,946 posts)Not me, anymore. I got to the point where I can't or I really lose all the progress I've made on healing and getting healthy again.
That's okay, though.. it's worth it to me.. There's plenty of good healthy food to eat.. I've learned my lesson.
But that's a whole different story and my journey and issues to overcome.
You know what's best for you. Oh and good luck with the Lasix, I just looked it up

It's going to be very windy and chilly, lots of pollen and dust blowing around. Not what the doctor would order, I feel sure.

(29,366 posts)...to typically vote red. Fellow Democrats can be hard to come by here, but it's getting better. The last two rallies I participated in had considerable turnout, and lots of supportive honking from cars passing by.
McHenry County went for Trump in all 3 elections -
I'll be wearing what I call my "late fall and early spring soccer watching coat," which I've had for at least 20 years. With the hood, it covers me from my head to my ankles, and came in very handy when our sons were playing soccer. Outdoor games started in April and often went into October/November, so it could be pretty damn cold on the sidelines. I remember one game taking place on a 17 degree day. All the kids were wearing jackets and snow pants under their uniforms.

(143 posts)My girlfriend and I, along with five other friends will be at the No Kings protest in Lancaster, PA. There will be four different marches starting from various locations throughout the City of Lancaster and we will all converge at Reservoir Park where they expect up to 7,000 people.
Lancaster is a small city and 7,000 people would be about 12% of the population. The crowd estimate at the Lancaster No Kings protest last October was almost 5,000 people and that was a record turnout for a political event in the city.
Lancaster City is blue but the surrounding county is quite red and voted for Trump by significant margins. Tomorrow's No Kings will draw people from all across the county.
Hoping for at least 12 million nationwide tomorrow.
