Hillary Clinton's opening statement to Committee

Last edited Thu Feb 26, 2026, 01:54 PM - Edit history (1)

Hillary Clinton just posted her opening statement to the Comer Committee which she is testifying before today. It's part of the Save Donald from Epstein Investigation. The committee has essentially taken over the town of Chappaqua for the purpose. @hillaryclinton.bsky.social

For those having trouble reading the Bluesky link, Bigtree has a clear image of the opening statement here

Question to the group, please. I've not been keeping up with the news the last few days and have not heard why the Clintons decided to agree to testify without it being a public testimony.

Does anyone know why they did? This is not a snide comment. I love both Big Dawg and Hillary and I was simply hoping to be able to see their testimony live.

Wish they had held out.

I understand that Bill is trying to set a precedent (i.e., that former Presidents can be compelled to testify), but I sure wish they would have held their ground so that the world could see (live) what they had to say and not have their words spun by Faux News.

A court never ruled he had to. He is setting no precedent. Only SCOTUS can do that.

There is no scenario where Donald J. Trump will ever be forced by a court of law to be interviewed by Congress. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. All Bill did was guarantee a perjury investigation against Hillary and himself.

As a "president", the supremes allow him to say anything he wants to say. If anyone disagrees or questions his testimony he can just call the Marshalls and have them arrested and sent to Gitmo. Who can stop him? Dictators are allowed to do that.

Several sentences just end at the end of a line.

I wish Hillary would insist that, “if the Committee insists on interviewing First Ladies, you should call Melania Trump. After all, Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. Rumor is Jeffrey had sex with her before selling her to Donald. Melania would know far more about Epstein than I would.”

But they don’t want the truth. They only want to score points with the Orange Blob.

The text in the Blue Sky post is incomplete. There is text missing from the bottom of each of the first 3 pages. To see the full statement, you have to click on the Blue Sky post and then scroll through the four pages to read all of it.

It would be nice to have a direct link to the full text of the statement. I'm sure it is available online somewhere other than Blue Sky, but I can't find it.

Other than that, Senator Clinton's statement was brilliant, and to the point. It carved Comer and his klan a richly deserved new one. Sadly, sociopaths are congenitally incapable of shame, because that's what they all deserve.

The orange blob never returned a lot of classified docs he took when he left the White House. I’d bet even more money that some of the docs he never returned involved Jeffrey Epstein.

Why else the feverish personal scanning through countless files? He could be no judge nor waste time on anything else, even IF he was trying to find blackmail on his relatively innocent enemies. Immensely stupid and even more desperate that his brazen control keeps escalating to deny the mountain of evidence in the mountain range of files any accountability.

The post is on BlueSky NOT Twitter, and if you click on them you can go to the BlueSky post and there if you click on them it gives your larger images of the full pages of text that are easily read.

But all of that, may be technically challenging to someone, if you are not tech savvy enough to distinguish between Twitter which no longer exists in that name and other social media applications

However you apparently were savvy enough to search and find a link where you read the statement and posted it. so there is that

And the images came from text.

I have OCR'ed a ton over time.

BlueSky had a real opportunity to improve on twitter but it's so "more of the same"

DU is infinitely better, with its "slightly better than 1980's" format.

And I visit Hacker News often, with a text format that's like usenet.

The internet is toxic, unreadable crap because "tech leaders" are Bozos. Including Bezos. And people eat it up instead of demanding better.

"I'm mad as hell and not going to take this any more."

And have a great day. Without OCR.
