...my governor.

I have long learned that Im not trying to get inside of the presidents psyche. Its not a good use of my time, Moore said.
Its not lost on me that Im the only Black governor in this country, and I find that to be particularly painful, considering the fact that the president is trying to exclude me from an organization that not only all my peers have asked me to help to lead, but then also a place where I know I belong.
Moore also said on CNN that the White House dinner with governors and their spouses would no longer be an official National Governors Association event.
If the president wants to have a dinner with his friends and have a black tie dinner with his friends on that night, that is perfectly fine. It will not be an NGA event, Moore said.

(93,749 posts)...obviously, because of other governors who criticized Trump, like Newsom and Pritzker, weren't excluded.
Gov. Polis has always been willing to work with anyone across the political spectrum who wants to help work on the hardest problems facing Colorado and America, regardless of party or who occupies the White House, spokesperson Shelby Wieman said in a statement.

(4,404 posts)We absolutely need an observer, and reporter, in there to know what the pubs are plotting.
It has long been a tactic of the pub party to pass the most controversial policy and other decisions in the dead of night, witih barely a quorum, and then present the fait accompli in the back of the minutes.
We need at least a designated observer to attend without fear of being called a traitor.

I would hope that the other governors will speak out. However, my governor will be sitting on the right hand side of their Caligula demigod.

Moore over the weekend took to social media to explain how he had been left out of an event, even after going to the White House for a successful meeting.
"This week, I learned that I was uninvited to this years National Governors Association dinner a decades-long annual tradition meant to bring governors from both parties together to build bonds and celebrate a shared service to our citizens with the President of the United States. My peers, both Democrats and Republicans, selected me to serve as the Vice Chair of the NGA, another reason why its hard not to see this decision as another example of blatant disrespect and a snub to the spirit of bipartisan federal-state partnership," the governor wrote. "As the nations only Black governor, I cant ignore that being singled out for exclusion from this bipartisan tradition carries an added weight whether that was the intent or not."
He continued:
"What makes it especially confounding is that just weeks ago I was at the White House with a bipartisan group of governors, working with the administration on reforms to lower energy costs and strengthen grid reliability. We proved in that moment whats possible when we stay focused on outcomes over politics. As Governor of Maryland and Vice Chair of the NGA, my approach will never change: Im ready to work with the administration anywhere we can deliver results. Yet, I promised the people of my state I will work with anybody but will bow down to nobody. And I guess the President doesnt like that."
Moore also went on cable news earlier in the day, where he confirmed the NGA had decided that it would not be a NGA-sponsored event if any of its members are left out.
