“God bless America,” Benito proclaims as he progresses to the finish, promptly naming Chile, Argentina and all of South and Central America and the Caribbean before finishing with the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. “Seguimos aquí,” (“We’re still here”) he closes, spiking a football that says: “Together, we are America.”

It has United in our name, and it also has America which is shared across continents. USA is pretty unique in the world as country names go.

that Celine Dion sang God Bless America because she's Canadian. When it was pointed out out that Canada is part of North America, they claimed that God Bless America only applies to the U.S. 🙄

With Central America thrown in the middle.

However, the US being the dominant economic and military powerhouse it is has always been referred to as "America"

Not everything is fair or accurate.
