I watched the HELL out of the halftime show!

Incredible!

I don’t know anything about Bad Bunny or his music. But that was a joyous performance. And I loved when he said “God Bless America”, he went on to name every country in the Americas.

I need that joy right now. That exuberance. That celebration. A little healing going inside right now.

Plus, the MAGAs are no doubt losing their shit.

We got to watch all of those staggeringly beautiful people. They watched Kid Rock.

Reminded me of the movie “In the Heights”. I really enjoyed that movie because it was such a joyous explosion of Latin culture. I got the same feeling from this show.

It was happy and joyous and celebrated diversity and pride and families and elders and children and love. Every minute was amazing tho I didn’t understand every spoken word, the messages were clear in everyone’s smiles and energy. I think it was smart not to subtitle it, readers would have missed the energy. More please!!

So it's a mix and Spanish and English names and I like that.

Do I wish the show had been a bit more bilingual? Frankly, yes. But I also enjoyed every second of it, and its positive message transcended language completely. It certainly outdid Kendrick Lamar feeding his personal grudge against Drake!

I did not enjoy the music very much. (and I speak Spanish.) And I guess I'm too old not to find the dancing a tad vulgar. But I did love the production--the energy, the colors, the celebration of Latin cultures and Latin contributions to our great melting pot. I loathe football but I tuned in to the halftime show mainly because I knew it was melting MAGA brains. All in all, I'm glad I did.

how I felt about the production without upsetting anyone. It certainly was much better than Kick Rock (what isn't) and it was a very impressive production overall.

However, I could have done without the crotch-grabbing in the beginning and the hyper-sexualized young women dancing - yeah, I found it "a tad vulgar" as well. I guess it was yet another reminder of the way women are objectified and degraded in our society, something so many of us have dealt with our entire lives.

I don't like football or rap, but that really was a remarkable production. I wish I could love it more because Trump and his MAGA supporters hate it.

I know only a smattering of Spanish, but I honestly don't see why it's important to understand the language - any language. I can listen to Nessun Dorma a gazillion times and I don't know the language, but it moves me to tears every single time and just touches me somewhere deep inside. Same goes for many songs sung in other languages.

Music is about the feeling and emotion you get when hearing it, and this was definitely evoking an emotion of pure joy and happiness and unity. Lord knows we needed that more than ever these days.

It was wonderful.

And you're right. You don't have to understand the language of an opera in order to enjoy it artistically. Sometimes, knowing what they're saying can be a liability. "O Mio Babbino Caro", from Gianni Schicci, for example. The music is transportingly lovely; an obvious paean to immortal love. Until you know the meaning of the Italian lyrics. Then, it's basically a teenaged girl saying "Oh my darling Daddy! Please, please, PLEASE let me marry him! He's SO handsome! If you let me marry him, I'll go and buy a ring! And if you don't let me marry him, I'll go to the river and jump in! You watch me! Please, please, PLEASE let me marry him! I want to DIE! I want to DIE!..."

You get the idea. Takes a little of the eternal romance out of it...

The inclusion of our Americas neighbors also resonated with me. So sick of the America First crap.

If we help each other we ALL win.Everything for Trump and the Republicans is a zero sum game.

We've been down this ridiculous road so many times throughout history and it always

ends the same--economic disaster and wars. We are always stronger when everyone gets a seat at the table.

Lifting someone up makes you stronger and better--that act doesn't take--it gives you more.

That's what I loved about Bad Bunny. He highlighted the best of Latino culture in an inclusive way.

Didn't understand all the words, but it didn't matter. The message was universal--we are all America!

I was crying tears of joy at the end!
