Yesterday one of the members of Congress

who visited a Federal detention facility for immigrants spoke about what they saw. It was mentioned that the guards were standing around joking and laughing with each other while just a short distance away, in the cages, there were people crying and begging for help.

Nobody needs to ever ask again how it was that German citizens ended up taking part in using ethnicity etc. as an identifier for rounding people up, beating them, killing them, raping them, torturing them etc. We have this clear example of dehumanization of the targets of their racism and hate. Make no mistake. This is evil being put on full display for the world to see. Nazi redux.

Nearly 3000 goons running around the streets of the Twin Cities busting car windows, breaking down doors, dragging people from cars and homes, killing, beating, demanding papers and then ignoring them, claiming they are false or saying "I don't care".

The deaths in custody are higher in the past year than at any time in the past two decades it has been reported. A witness in Texas says he saw the guards choke a man to death. People are denied their medications

The stops targeting of people with non-white skin is off the charts and has resulted in large numbers of American citizens being targeted, hassled and detained for long periods despite the oblivious notion from Kavanaugh that these stops would be brief and end once the person showed identification. It was always a 4th Amendment violation no matter how brief but when a Justice appears to have spent more time in college drinking than studying law this is what we get.

Oblivious to the obvious. Just like Roberts and his view about major racism having ended. Oblivious to the obvious in order to be able to go to their offices, private clubs and graft sessions and smile and deny that they have unleashed horror on the land that was completely predictable.

Nobody in jail, nobody thrown from office no matter what they've done. Federal goons going door to door in places demanding papers. The doctrine and conduct of white supremacy on full display. Full evil display. They are itching to go further and kill more and more people. Like their laughing guards the leaders of this evil don't look at their targets as human beings. Just simply targets.

While they put out propaganda to justify the actions of their goons.

The question for those of us who disagree with the fascists and fight against what they are doing is whether we will be more successful in stopping the onslaught and progression of fascism than the people in Germany were who disagreed and fought against what was happening. Neville Chamberlain was oblivious to the obvious and thought an evil madman would hold to some paper agreement. Will we similarly be taken in by court decisions or acts of Congress? The court decisions that are largely unenforced and the acts signed into law for which there is no compliance?

Because we cannot be oblivious to the obvious and hope to hold onto what's left of our country and democracy we cannot stop protesting, we cannot simply obey the unlawful force of their tactics and we must escalate further peaceful civil disobedience and economic action.

convince these goons to participate. They would do so willingly and love every minute.

Snip:

The Milgram Shock Experiment, conducted by Stanley Milgram in the 1960s, tested obedience to authority. Participants were instructed to administer increasingly severe electric shocks to another person, who was actually an actor, as they answered questions incorrectly.

Despite hearing the actor’s screams, most participants continued administering shocks, demonstrating the powerful influence of authority figures on behavior.
