"Fewer elected Democrats are willing to commit to impeaching Trump if they win back control of the House"

From the campaign trail to Capitol Hill, a growing number of Democrats have said they believe President Donald Trump has committed impeachable offenses in his first year back in office.

But with their focus on the midterms, fewer elected Democrats are willing to commit to impeaching Trump if they win back control of the House, given likely Republican control of the Senate and potential for backlash from voters.

Trump warns Republicans they have to win midterms or he'll 'get impeached'

Trump has predicted that Democrats will impeach him if they retake the House, and Republicans plan to make that threat a key piece of their midterm messaging.

"They will do anything to stop the Trump agenda," Rep. Dan Meuser, a Republican from Pennsylvania, said of Democrats. "People, if they don't want a two-year president, who they voted for pretty overwhelmingly in 2024, can't allow the House to flip."

Call hearings, question officials, pass legislation that helps people. The majority of voters are sick of Trump and want something done for them, let the Democrats do that.

We're gonna try a third time? I know, hard to accept, but maybe the stupid parts of the voting populace need to suffer a bit.

All his criminality is already on the record and he still got elected. A futile impeachment attempt seems like a dumb tactic to me.

A lot of voters are assholes and/or fools.

Vance is not popular so doing something that makes him President could turn some people off.

I'm not sure why this is so hard to grasp for some.

( but yes, it is reasonable to have reasonable discussions about what that looks like for a particular rep)

I have not seen the party rise to moment very often; in my opinion it is why we fail to consistently win elections. It doesn’t matter if you have the best ideals or the best ideas if you refuse to fight to implement them.

before the midterms. Some morons might be swayed to vote for a Republican solely to save Trump's miserable behind.

A Truth and Reconciliation Commission modeled after South Africas.
Compromised of federal judges. Maybe some former members of congress.

Remove the process from the political sphere where those opposing can run interference and slow things down.

Many details would need to be sussed out obliviously.

Yes to all of us we want this to happen. But unless something changes dramatically there isn’t a single Republican let alone almost 20 that will convict. Go in and start trying to pass legislation that while it won’t go anywhere you can show voters what a post 2028 agenda would look like. Block his BS agenda and present our side. Impeachment would just look like petty politics

He might not make it until 2028.

Prudence might suggest removing him from office by other means, even before Satan calls him home. (e.g. 25th amendment or whatever recourse is available to remove a President clearly afflicted with severe dementia and psychosis.)
