Here's another thought on the "impending" war with Venezuela

First, “No new wars!” Lies promised, lies kept.

Second, the Venezuelan armed forces are not staffed with morons. They know fully that they can’t go toe-to-toe with the U.S. in a conventional fight, which would quickly go asymmetric. No, they observed the quagmires that were both sandboxes and IMO will do the following:

1. Evacuate their Air Force to a friendly country, probably Colombia.
2. Leave a token force in place in Caracas to “defend” the capitol.
3. For the vast majority of soldiers and Marines, trade in their uniforms for civilian clothes and blend in with the population.
4. Then when our boots on the ground arrive (you can’t hold ground with an Air Force and Navy) use the urban combat and guerrilla war tactics that were so successful for the Taliban.

Then wait as the U.S. falls apart seeing our soldiers and Marines come home in body bags.

Again.

(Oh, the fucking child rapist will get his war with the pliant, soft Congress he has).

1. Trump: We don't want to be the policemen of the world BY BRETT SAMUELS - 04/30/18

Inconsistent. but CONVENIENT:
It's all to fend off the "Epstein Event Horizon"
It's Mousselini invading Ethiopia Venezuela

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/385521-trump-we-dont-want-to-be-the-policemen-of-the-world/

President Trump on Monday said the U.S. should no longer serve as the “policemen of the world.”

“We more and more are not wanting to be the policemen of the world,” Trump said during a joint press conference with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We’re spending tremendous amounts of money for decades policing the world, and that shouldn’t be the priority,” he said. “We want to police ourselves and we want to rebuild our country. And the president understands that.”{mosads}

Trump ran on the promise that he would extricate the U.S. from foreign wars.

1) Thinking any GOPer prez would keep us out of wars.
2) Believing that the orange assclown would tell the truth.

He built up a cult and denial is the trademark of a cult, among many other failure modes.

I came to the conclusion (hopefully, not exclusively) that a cult "legitimizes" some behavior banned or shunned by society in exchange for membership, and resulting loss of identity, and dignity. It's a sick tradeoff that too many make, like entire countries, or half thereof.

All entirely for the benefit of the "leader".

Of course, he redefined "truth" and fascists aim to rewrite history itself.

Not sure that’s even his goal.

Disrupting the Venezuelan oil industry and jacking the price up will benefit Russia and the Saudis, and that may be enough.

5. Sure he would, especially if it bumps the epstein files further off the media's radar.

He calculates that any negative effect from his invasion of Venezuela would be less than the negative effect of the epstein files.

I don’t think it will happen until after the midterms, if at all.

They’ll stick to murdering civilians from the air.

Both wars ended identically. Declare "victory" and leave after it became obvious we're not going to achieve our ever shifting goals and the US populace became tired of body bags flying into Dover Air Force Base. Swap North Vietnam with Iran as the safe haven and funder of the insurgency. Today, Iraq is little more than an Iranian client state. Mission not accomplished, Dubya. It was an impossible mission.

In recent history, Republicans have shown themselves to be big cowards. They don’t attack enemies that they figure will shoot back. Reagan attacked the Caribbean island Grenada. Bush Sr. attacked Panama, and (wisely) stopped with the attack to free Kuwait when he got to the Iraqi border.

Even when Cheney and Rumsfeld invaded Iraq, it was a miscalculation, not a change in tactics. They expected. Cake walk (oops).

So I don’t expect to see an invasion of Venezuela now.

committing home invasion robberies in So. Cal's Valley.
The homeowners have what the thugs want, and feel entitled to take it. Regardless of the consequences.
Every tool, via policies the bloated one has been given have been stretched to it's limits leaving the policies unrecognizable. Unless the Republican Congress or the Supreme Court reigns him in he will continue to abuse the system.

What you propose Aviation Pro, I think is a good fighting strategy.
I would suggest, they not engage at all. Just like our protesters here in the U.S.

He will have to attack a sovereign Country without provocation. As we know, he has immunity but our military doesn't. If they choose to follow an illegal order they will have to answer for it. It's definitely a crisis.
By verbally attacking Columbia he has drawn another country into conflict. Who will be next. He also threatened to take back the canal from Panama. Who will our allies be in this war? Who will be theirs? Will China bring their navy to this hemisphere? In larger numbers.
I guess I have more questions than answers.
