It’s a bit more subtle but I had to learn to read their sale tags very, very carefully. Makes me so angry when I get caught and don’t notice before I’m charged full price.

4. I check my receipts. So far I haven't caught my grocery store doing that.

BUT a bad thing they do - or rather - a thing that they fail miserably at, that they should do, is take down ALL the SALE labels after that sale period is over. I have learned the hard way to check the date on the sale tags. But now I know that rarely if ever is the same thing on sale two weeks in a row ... so if I saw it on sale last week and this week the tag is still up, well that's because they just didn't take it down. That said, I think maybe they had some new hires who screwed up, or maybe people complained - it was really bad for a few weeks but it is getting better now.
Glad I don't go to Kroger.
