(42,954 posts)End it occurred to me that when they say preserving heritage what they really mean is slavery and segregation. They dont care about our own history or culture. They hate it.

(48,140 posts)and get him to come by and tear down a historic building? Huh.
Shame on any contractor agreeing to do that without all the proper paperwork in hand. And when they inevitably get stiffed on the bill by Donald Trump, I will have zero tears to shed.

(8,406 posts)Impeachment proceedings would have already begun and we'd have round the clock coverage of the "carnage" on all the MSM channels.
Yet, the republican party is essentially silent on Trump's rape of the White House.
This shit needs to end now!

(40,398 posts)FFS, ***everyone*** was using digital cameras by then. Color was not some expensive extra. Based on no other evidence at all, that photo has to be from late 60s at best. By that point, journos were taking color pictures and reducing them to B/W for halftone presses while saving the color negatives.
GOPers don't notice because they think EVERYTHING is black and white.
(Cue: Calvin's father explains color vs B/W .... )

Good lord.
You're right - anytime he flouts convention, rules, norms, expectations, they sit up on their hind legs and applaud. Processes are for Libtards and eggheads.

(12,200 posts)He did a really good job designing our house. But the plumbing was still not completed accurately and we had to fix some electrical wiring done very poorly. We paid them well and this still happened.
It's not the architect or the contractor that makes for shoddy work. It's all your subcontractors, site laborers and workers that make for shoddy work.
The people who actually do the wiring, put in the pipes and dry wall, the people who actually handle the construction are the ones who get jipped out of their pay. And those are the people pedo Trump cuts back on. Those are the people contractors try to pay pennies for. Those are the jobs they bring migrant workers in for.
Those low paid workers will make or break a shoddy building even if you have the best contractors and architects in the world.
So, yeah, that new ballroom for the filthy-rich and Nazis could still burn down due to shoddy wiring. Because it's not the contractor or architect that actually handles the wires.

(3,820 posts)He goes around the rules.
This is just the demolition. Wait till he starts to build with cheap labor and inferior building materials.
He'll probably end up stiffing the workers in the end too.

(16,600 posts)Everything from the excessive height of a flagpole, the size and placement of a helicopter pad, to the use of his estate as a club/business had to be litigated. Trump never follows the laws.
Trump isnt into consent.
He just grabbed America by the East Wing without permission. He was automatically attracted to his plans.of a ballroom. He just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything."

(13,019 posts)Republicans will just stand by while he razes the entire White House. Surely some federal judges would bar what he us doing.
maxsolomon
(37,669 posts)They'd have to demonstrate standing. A federal judge could issue an injunction (not a Trump judge), which would then be ignored while it is fought up to the SCOTUS.
You know what happens then.

(951 posts)What I don't understand is the caustic comments on this thread by people just because. . . .
If you read the post, they have outlined the process and, as I understand it, the White House is under the auspices of the National Park Service.
Perhaps the original post should be re-titled as "The Alt National Park Service's response to Trump's unilateral demolition..."

(346 posts)The Alt National Park Service (AltNPS) Twitter account was created in 2017 as a "resistance" effort in response to the Trump administration imposing social media restrictions on official government agencies. The account and movement aimed to continue disseminating scientific facts and environmental information that they felt was being suppressed.
Origin and purpose
Context: Shortly after the first inauguration of Donald Trump in January 2017, federal agencies were ordered to halt all social media posting. This occurred after the official National Park Service (NPS) account retweeted messages comparing the crowd size at Trump's inauguration to Barack Obama's.
"Rogue" accounts emerge: In the wake of the gag order, unofficial or "rogue" accounts emerged on social media. The AltNPS account was created by what it described as an anonymous network of NPS employees and their allies to speak out against environmental policy changes. Other "Alt" accounts for agencies like the EPA and NASA also appeared.

We loan the Orange Cartoon-Character our house for 4 years, everything on our fucking dime, and he rips down a third of it. Then, he bribes a bunch of rich chumps to pay for the erection of a guilted, dime a ticket dancehall.
What ya wanna bet We the People end up paying for the entire fucking thing and the lawsuits which will blossom around it like mushrooms out of cowshit.
