NJ-GOV: Obama to campaign with Sherrill in New Jersey
Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s (D-N.J.) gubernatorial campaign announced on Tuesday that former President Barack Obama will join her on the campaign trail in Newark on Nov. 1.
“President Obama reminds us what we can accomplish when we leaders are unafraid to take on big challenges to deliver. He led historic efforts to insure millions of Americans and lower healthcare costs. The contrast couldn’t be clearer,” Sherrill said in a statement.
Obama endorsed Sherrill for governor on Friday.
“Hey New Jersey. This is Barack Obama. And I want to talk to you about my friend, Mikie Sherrill. Mikie is a mom who will drive down costs for New Jersey families. As a federal prosecutor, and former Navy helicopter pilot, she worked to keep our communities safe,” Obama said in a 30-second ad released by Sherrill’s campaign.
