...specifically, Trump's scheme to finance the destruction of the White House to build his ballroom for his rich and elite friends and supporters with money from those same wealthy donors.

report:
Trump has said that the $250 million project would be financed by him and private donors. The White House reiterated the message in a recent X post, saying, For over 100 years, presidents have enhanced the White House, preserving its legacy as a symbol of our nation. Today, President Trump proudly broke ground on the new, big White House Ballroom. Privately funded, it costs taxpayers nothing & will be cherished for generations.
According to CBS News, those who offer donations for Trumps ballroom may be able to choose to have their names etched inside the White House forever. Another option may be listing donor names on a website, but no final decision has been made, the outlet stated.
Google, R.J. Reynolds, Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, Palantir and NextEra Energy have donated. There have also been donations from firms in the tech, manufacturing, banking and health industries, sources told the outlet.
Among the companies that have pledged more than $10 million is Lockheed Martin. While company officials did not confirm the account, Jalen Drummond, vice president of corporate affairs at Lockheed Martin said in a statement, "Lockheed Martin is grateful for the opportunity to help bring the President's vision to reality and make this addition to the People's House, a powerful symbol of the American ideals we work to defend every day."

...you don't have to wade too deep into this report to smell the rancid corruption being engineered surrounding this boondoggle venue designed for the rich and famous who are invited there to kiss the president's electroplated gold crown and dine on gourmet food and beverages at the expense of taxpayers struggling to afford the 'groceries' Trump epiphanized during the campaign were vital to the people of the country he intended to lord over.
Most important is this normalizing of multi-millionaires and billionaires financing presidential ambitions for federal projects and construction, of which, the will of Congress is the primary determinate of money spent for what's essentially the people's property.
What Trump is setting up in place of that constitutional process is a bidding contest where the rich and powerful curry favor for approval and financing of their personal projects or contracts in a money-laundering scheme of governmental favoritism and graft that's essentially extortion.
CBS Contribute money to the new White House ballroom President Trump is constructing and, in exchange, donors may be able to choose a Trumpian option: their names etched inside the White House forever. At least that's one option that has been discussed.
Multiple companies have pledged to donate $5 million or more for what was projected to be a $200 million addition to the executive mansion, according to sources familiar with the matter. Mr. Trump has had personal discussions with business executives about chipping in, three of the sources said.
Meredith O'Rourke, a top political fundraiser for Mr. Trump, is leading the effort, paired with the Trust for the National Mall, an organization that supports the National Park Service. The trust's nonprofit status means donations come with a federal tax write-off.
Donors may also request to remain anonymous.
