Global democracy organizations?

I've heard of World Movement for Democracy and the National Endowment for Democracy but don't really know what they are currently doing or if they are even genuine. Does anyone know of an international organized effort for people distressed about their own country's government sliding into autocracy and fascism? Seems like we could join up with those in Russia and Israel who are mortified by the policies and atrocities committed by their leaders but feel helpless because the democratic political systems once in place have been corrupted or destroyed by oligarchs.

The NED was created as a bipartisan, private, non-profit corporation, but acts as a grant-making foundation. It is funded primarily by an annual allocation from the U.S. Congress. In addition to its grants program, the NED also supports and houses the Journal of Democracy, the World Movement for Democracy, the Reagan–Fascell Fellowship Program, the Network of Democracy Research Institutes, and the Center for International Media Assistance.

Upon its founding, the NED assumed several former activities of the Central Intelligence Agency. Political groups, activists, academics, and some governments have accused the NED of being an instrument of U.S. foreign policy helping to foster regime change. In February 2025, the Department of Government Efficiency cut funding to the NED by blocking disbursement from the US Department of Treasury after Elon Musk, who had been carrying out President Donald Trump's cost-cutting agenda, called for NED to be shut down.

I hadn't head of the World Movement for Democracy before; it hasn't updated its website since February, and didn't manage to write up its November 2024 meeting in South Africa, so I fear it's not functioning well. Its HQ is in Washington DC, so I fear it too got US government funding which Musk and Trump cut off.
