2. I'd be more enthused if he hadn't started the year sucking up to MAGA on his podcasts.

I'll vote for him if he wins the nomination and we actually have an election in '28, but that switcheroo says to me that he's an opportunist who will say whatever he thinks is advantageous to him at any given moment.

3. I hated that, too, but three things

1. He’s leading the fight against fascist rule. So he miscalculated in the past. You don’t shoot your leader in the back. Warts and all.

2. He made inroads with some that can pay off handsomely. Trust is everything, and maybe they saw a trustworthy person.

And if YOU want to, BE OPPORTUNISTIC. Take care of the lead dog. It might be another one later, but get the damn sled moving.

3. GRUDGES KILL DEMOCRATS. I saw a stupid grudge turn a family member completely around. It was sad and it hurt like hell to see. Three things kill all progress: “Woulda, Coulda and Shoulda.”

Mom used to say, “If you don’t have something nice to say about someone, keep it to yourself.” But then she knew that perfection is the enemy of good enough. And that Hillary was worth voting for despite what the purity police were all up about.

I don't care for sucking up to bigots as part of a campaign strategy but I do believe he would be 1000 percent better than any fucking repuke.

9. I was very dissapointed and angry with Gov. Newsome when he did those interviews

but since then I've come to realize his strategy was probably correct.

There are a lot of great posts and replies here on DU from some really astute contributors and most of us are in political agreement but to what end? To really make a difference, we need to go into the lion's den. Which is what Gov. Newsome did. So, I was wrong and wish to belatedly thank my Governor for taking the fight to them. I must say, he's showing me some stuff, when and where it counts.

Hen turned out to be just another politician saying whatever he though might get him more votes.
