Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers announced Thursday he won’t run for re-election next year, a move that will set off a wide-open race to replace him in one of the nation’s most closely divided battleground states.

In a video posted to X, Evers, 73, a Democrat, said he would not seek a third term so he could spend more time with his family, while also predicting he would have won had he run.

Next year is gearing up to be a pretty strong blue wave year. Run a strong candidate and Dems will likely retain the seat.

We've been getting a ton of "stories" (free ads) about Tom Tiffany weighing his decision to run for governor. That fucker is nuts.
My early thought would be Katrina Shankland. She was a state rep, and ran for Van Orden's seat in Congress, but Rebecca Cooke, who was funded by some conservative groups, and was negative in her campaigning against Shankland, which is why I believe Shankland lost the primary. Cooke is running against VanAsshole again as I understand. I'm sure there are others besides Shankland, but for now, the qualities I am looking for are: Fire in the belly, strong progressive, fights fire with fire, integrity, intelligent (Shankland definitely is), ......
