It's never too late to take the red hat off.

Forgive yourself.
Retake control of your own brain.
Vow to pay attention and be sensitive to probable liars from this point forward.
Do whatever you can to encourage others to follow your lead.
Bonus: Be angry. Be motivated. Make a difference.

(3,836 posts)will be good for the country, is that in the future people will begin to educate themselves before voting, that people will become aware of who is working for them and who is set to destroy them, and hopefully will go to the voting booths to make the right decisions for them and the country.
And of course, a bonus will be if the republican party, as it is, disappears completely, that their current "leaders" are vanished from public office forever, that supreme court republican judges get impeached.
Almost forgot. That rules, laws that control the president are revisited, that the opinion stating that "a president cannot be indicted while in office" is completely removed, the "immunity" clause the corrupt republican judges gave trump is also removed. Laws MUST prevent another trump from seeking office, because they will still come. I believe that Reagan and G. W. Bush opened the door for inept and corrupt people to seek office, those people need to know they are not welcome.

(16,120 posts)If someone voted for Trump after ALL of the information out there explaining what he was, etc.
If someone voted for Trump after seeing ALL of the destruction from his last term.
If someone woman voted for Trump who has three kids and is this person's young age, she voted to take the rights of all other women away as to their choice to have children or not, and I have no understanding of ANY woman doing that.
If someone voted for Trump for ANY reason - I have no compassion for them. As I've said in posts on DU before, I have a limited about of compassion, and I choose where I extend it. I extend plenty in other areas of my life and circle of humans. But not this.
Let these people come back to me when they've supported ONLY Democrats for at least THREE election cycles, and then maybe, just maybe, I'll be willing to listen to their whining. Until then, sorry. Not sorry.

(115 posts)Vivek Ramaswamy called Nikki Haley "Dick Cheney in heels". MAGA influencers like to pretend they were always against "neocon Bush's" war. It'll be the same thing eventually with Trump...most won't admit to supporting him.
I can't emphasize enough to learn the difference between bad people and decent people with bad politics.

(5,147 posts)She knew precisely who he was when she cast her vote. She can move forward or sidestep in the coming years, that's her own choice and my opinions of her one way or the other won't change the taste of mustard.

She and her family are already suffering under her decision. And so are we. I'll don't need to forgive her. She's too stupid to be my friend, though.
