AOC Tweeted What So Many Are Thinking After Trump's Sudden 180 On The Epstein Files

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) torched President Donald Trump in an X post on Friday, calling him a “rapist” over the administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

“Wow who would have thought that electing a rapist would have complicated the release of the Epstein Files?” the congresswoman wrote.

Trump was found civilly liable in 2023 for sexual abuse and defamation of columnist E. Jean Carroll. He maintains his innocence.

The Trump administration faces a slew of public backlash, including from its own fanbase, for going back on its promises of releasing the “client list” that some believe Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, used to blackmail powerful figures.

The cycle apparently goes: lots of Democrats do something --> they get no press for it --> AOC tweets the same thing -- it gets much more press --> fans post her tweet and/or article about her tweet here --> inevitably someone comes along and praises her while chastising other Democrats for not doing what they already did.

Jeffries has spoken out...

Ossoff said, "“Did anyone really think the sexual predator president who used to party with Jeffrey Epstein was gonna release the Epstein files?”

Khanna introduced an amended forcing Bondi to post all Epstein-related files to a public website within 30 days (which failed because of Republicans)...

When that amendment inevitably failed, Democratic House leaders then attached the amendment to a full vote in the House (which also failed because of Republicans)...

Van Hollen has put forth a measure to ensure all Epstein-related records are preserved...

Gallego has demanded that the Epstein list be released...

The House Majority PAC has called MAGA Republicans recent tax cuts and blocking the Epstein list as them protecting "the elite, powerful and well-connected."

The DNC tweeted, "“What is Trump hiding? Release the Epstein files" and created an account that posts messages each day reminding MAGA that Trump still has not released the Epstein files.

Veasey tweeted, "“Either (Trump) and his acolytes fueled the rumors of the significance of these Epstein files to help his campaign, or something is there! Put up or Shut up.”

Lieu tweeted, "Release the Epstein files. Trump is all over the Epstein files that have previously been released, from pictures to videos to plane logs to quotes to court filings. What is the Trump Administration hiding?"

Swalwell tweeted, "Why won’t House Republicans unearth the Epstein files that Trump buried?" and later tweeted, "This lady (Taylor Greene) and her colleagues won’t do shit about this. They voted last night to keep Epstein files from you. This tweet is just cheap talk. Time’s almost up for the GOP majority. A Democratic majority is coming and will unearth all that these co-conspirators have buried."

I could go on and on...

I look forward you to you praising all these Democrats for having already done what you demanded they do.

and you did a great job 'finding' them - but those responses were not 'headlines' on the MSM - and that is CERTAINLY part of the problem.
We need to hear MORE from those that are considered 'Leadership' of the party. We are hearing from President Obama - but it is a 'tough-love' message, as Charlie Pierce of Esquire calls it:

“There’s been, I gather, some argument between the left of the party and people who are promoting the quote-unquote abundance agenda. Listen, those things are not contradictory. You want to deliver for people and make their lives better? You got to figure out how to do it,” he said. “I don’t care how much you love working people. They can’t afford a house because all the rules in your state make it prohibitive to build. And zoning prevents multifamily structures because of NIMBY,” he said, referring to “not in my backyard” views. “I don’t want to know your ideology, because you can’t build anything. It does not matter.”
The “abundance agenda” is the latest style in sheep’s clothing cut to fit what’s left of the old Democratic Leadership Conference philosophy. The donor class of the Democratic party loves the hell out of this thing because it promises ... wait for it ... deregulation, especially in the housing sector. (I might suggest a chat soon with the people who bought the houses on the overbuilt banks of the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas.) It’s hard not to look at the political potential of the abundance agenda as a weapon to blunt the genuine populism bubbling up beneath the surface. And while it’s all the rage with the cocktail-party set among the Democrats, there probably aren’t 25 people outside the Beltway who ever have heard of it.
I never will understand Obama’s long periods of being hors de combat while the vandals took over the government. Imagine if Obama had been out there, hammering away with all his undoubted political skill. Imagine if he’d aimed it all at Republicans.

You are SO right - some get more 'press' than others - and that is a problem that goes back to the 2016 campaign if not before. It DOES seem to be a bias - why just AOC but not Swalwell, Lieu, or Ossoff? And isn't that the point?

We need more 'GOOD TROUBLE!' We need to make enough noise that the MSM DOES have to report it even if it goes against their own corporate bias regarding how they cover things. We're not making enough noise - not hearing enough from a strong party leadership that is willing to stand up and fight the Orange Devil - not be lambs like those in his own party that KNOW he's wrong.

We're on the same team - we need a unified fight!

Again, our Democrats are speaking out -- and taking what actions they can legislatively to further the Democratic agenda -- but if anything, the abject favoritism that our media has for Republicans has been fully exposed over the past year. Even somewhat once-reputable institutions like The Washington Post have been exposed as complete shills.

Instead of pointing the finger at our Democrats, we should start to pressure the media the same way that Republicans have been doing for decades now. And we absolutely should withhold our money and other support from media outlets that have shown to be biased against Democrats, e.g., if Bezos wants to turn his rag into capitalist/Republican propaganda, let him do so on his own dime. Let's not HELP him financially to work against our best Democratic interests.

Now that their Dear Leader is acting like he is protecting that list, and may even be on it!!!........They will lose interest and wait. stand back...stand down...for further instructions. It was never about the horrors of child rape, it was always about being proven right about Dear Leader and his Godly morals.

The orange rapist is already deflecting it by insinuating that it was all written by deep state Democrats. I think that is what they will go with if ever it is released, and his name is on it.

And they'll believe it. Its a cult people. The cult leader cannot be blamed for anything. His is the epitome of a caring, powerful, intelligent, strong, leader. He cannot do wrong. So if he's not wrong.....then they must be wrong for thinking he is. So they only need to abandon logic and wait to hear the truth on Truth Social

25. A letter from Bondi to Patel
Wed Jul 16, 2025, 04:31 PM

From AG Bondi, dated 02/27/2025

Dear Director Patel,
Before you came into office, I requested the full and complete files related to Jeffrey Epstein. In response to this request, I received approximately 200 pages of documents, which consisted primarily of flight logs. Epstein's list of contacts, and a list of victims' names and phone numbers.
I repeatedly questioned whether this was the full set of documents responsive to my request and was repeatedly assured by the FBI that we had received the full set of documents.
Late yesterday, I learned from a source that the FBI Field Office in New York was in possession of thousands of pages of documents related to the investigation and indictment of Epstein.
Despite my repeated requests, the FBI never disclosed the existence of these files. When you and I spoke yesterday, you were just as surprised as I was to learn this new information.
By 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, February 28, the FBI will deliver the full and complete Epstein files to my office, incinding all records, documents, audio and video recordings, und materials related to Jeffrey Epstein and his clients, regardless of how such information was obtained.
There will be no withholdings or limitations to my or your access. The Department of Justice will ensure that any public disclosure of these files will be done in a manner to protect the privacy of victims and in accordance with law, as I have done my entire career as a prosecutor.
I am also directing you to conduct an immediate investigation into why my order to the
FBI was not followed. You will deliver to me a comprehensive report of your findings and proposed personnel action within 14 days.
I appreciate your immediate attention to this important matter. I know that we are both committed to transparency for the American people, and I look forward to continuing to work with you to serve our President and our country.
Sincerely,

So she had the docs, then she denied they existed....

with this case being withdrawn probably due to death threats:

“Jane Doe” aka “Katie Johnson” – 1994. Lawsuit filed June 2016, refiled October 2016 as reported by Buzzfeed and others, then dropped in November 2016.
Jane Doe is an unnamed plaintiff, who has also gone by “Katie Johnson” in legal papers. She claims she was repeatedly raped by Trump and Jeffery Epstein at Epstein’s New York City apartment in 1994, when she was 13 years old. A witness, also given a pseudonym — “Tiffany Doe” — said she recruited “Jane Doe” and others. Doe, using the name “Johnson,” gave an interview to the Daily Mail in which she said she did not know who Trump was at the time of the alleged attack but identified him later when she saw him on television. It is not known why she withdrew the lawsuit. She has not spoken publicly or withdrawn her rape allegation since then.

This..

"Trump was found civilly liable in 2023 for sexual abuse and defamation of columnist E. Jean Carroll. He maintains his innocence."

He maintains his innocence. Who the fuck cares if he keeps bleating that he is innocent. He had his day in court and was found guilty. Why does this Yahoo article add that Trump maintains his innocence?

I don't recall any news articles about mob bosses, rapists, or murderers where the articles feel bound to mention that the adjudicated criminals maintain their innocence.

Jesus, the only time I want to see that phrase in an article is when it's about someone who there is strong evidence that they were unfairly or unproperly convicted.
