WASHINGTON (Spurious News Network) -- Citing her "strong support for (Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness)" as a termination offense, today King Donald Trump fired Kim Sajet from her twelve-year tenure as director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Portrait Gallery.
This firing is probably illegal as the Smithsonian is not an Executive Branch agency and handles its own personnel issues, but King Donald only obeys laws he likes so it's fine to him.
A subsequent Truth Social post named her replacement.
"I am hereby naming fine artist Jon McNaughton as director of the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery. He has the experience and, more importantly, the worldview necessary to Make the Smithsonian Great Again!"
Jon McNaughton is a highly political artist who paints fantasy portraits of King Donald Trump.
"Isn't that the guy who sells his paintings out of a tent in a shopping mall parking lot?" asked artist Mark Grotjahn, whose paintings sell for millions and are displayed in galleries worldwide. "I hate to disparage another working artist - it's not the kind of thing you should do; we should all respect each other's vision - but that guy really sucks. His brush technique is terrible and his drawing skills are worse. Cassius Marcellus Coolidge's Poker Playing Dogs series and Haddon Sundblom's Santa Claus portraits are far better than anything Jon ever put out. Given that, I can see why Trump hired the guy; when ninety percent of your work is pictures of Trump depicted as a hero, Trump's going to be in love with you whether or not you deserve it."
