If we gain power in 2026

Let's dream about a big win, where we overwhelm their numbers and just take back the say so. Let's pretend that this is what will happen.

Can we then impeach the bastard? I've heard more than one prominent Dem state that we can't impeach the vicious traitor. But, he's defying the SC rulings, stuff like that, and when, when can we take a stab at this??

I'm all for the rule of law, and due process, but I'm falling off the pathway here. We're just sitting here watching rump, et al. destroy our country.

I hope that those that voted for twisted trump own it. Is all this what they really wanted? WHY?? One thing I know, all these Republicans aren't going to get to just walk away like they had nothing to do with it. They will be shunned until they die.

1. I hope there are legitimate elections in 2026. I'm betting Trump will do everything in his power to prevent that.

3. I'm old enough to remember Joe McCarthy and his Senate UnAmerican Activities Committee

during the Red Scare. Many good people got smeared and lost their jobs. Finally, some in Congress grew a spine and started standing up to McCarthy.

Who was it who stopped him, saying "At long last, Senator, have you no shame?"

It was Joseph Welch, chief counsel for the U.S. Army. McCarthy accused the Army of having communist sympathies. Welch's remark is considered a turning point.

5. If the polls show Republicans will be wiped out in 2026, as I expect they will, Trump will try to cancel the election.

He'll issue an Executive Order, declare Martial Law, proclaim a National State of Emergency...he'll do something.

10. But can any President cancel an election?

He'd have a hell of a time trying to do such a thing. If he ordered the armed services of the U.S. to enforce such a mandate (which he can't mandate anyway) how would that proceed to happen?

I think we get off on a wrong track here when foresee this kind of action. Of course, it has never happened before so we don't really know but my sense is that he would be stopped in his tracks before he could even start plotting it.

the House for violating their Constitutional oath? This would be more effective to pursue than impeachment of F47 although I am in favor of both.

Which is a symbolic action.

However duly elected members can only be expelled by a 2/3 vote of their colleagues.

would have won by 10 points without that baggage.

We need to win the House in midterms, but don't think we'll win pushing impeachment, etc.

12. And, what is YOUR plan of action?
Wed May 28, 2025, 05:37 PM

I'd like to see something done before we get to an armed conflict. And, you?

The People have the right idea: mass protests. But they need the elected government backing their moves up. Let them do their jobs.

It does seem from your post that you advocate doing NOTHING. That's easy to do. By the end of this year, we will have, oh, not much left. Part of the problem is that people do nothing until it's too late. And, there are only a few elected Dems speaking up. You know, the impeachment process may serve a purpose other than kicking rumpy out. It's a statement that brave hearts can sign their names to, much more than paddles at the SOTU speech.

I'm old. I'll die. But, I'd like to think the United States remained a state of the art country, without a yellow-haired, orange-faced dictator kicking us to the curb like a piece of trash. I don't want to die with a dictator in power.

So, as you state irritation at complaints of doing nothing, what is your plan? You must have a plan. Tell all. This is, after all, a discussion board where ideas are discussed, opinions are stated. It's even a place where frustration at rump can be expressed.

This is a situation where one guy goes, "Why didn't you say something?" and the other goes, "I thought you were going to." And neither does anything.

I'm a registered Democrat, after many years as "not stated." I have never been a Republican. I switched to Democrat in order to support Dems. I support Dems. But, quite frankly, the elected Dems are slower to wake up than the People. And, they are paid to do something. We are only seeing a handful of elected officials standing up for us. Why is that? Where is everyone?

I can't wait for June 14th, what with the Pope speaking out about his Popely stuff. I think that will undercut rump's birthday parade and give a lot to cover to the pro-rump media. PLUS, 1,000 We the People protest rallies!

But, I want the bastard impeached. We'll deal with Vance.
