Weird blue suit color that T and the Republican Congress Critters all seem to be sporting ...

At the funeral of Pope Francis, T wore an alarmingly out of place suit- it was this hard to describe blue color - lighter than navy by a few levels and rather bright, in a way that hurts my eyes. Even through photographs. Of course his image hurts my eyes, but with this color of suit, there is a larger swath of ugly on the page, so to speak.

Now I am seeing photos of Speaker Johnson wearing that same color of suit.

So far I have not seen it on any Democrats.

I know this is all very non verbal, but like lapel pins and patches, is this symbolic? Or is it all coming from one tailor? If so, who is this tailer and why is this the new symbol of the authoritarians?

My question to the team DU is does anyone know what this particular color is supposed to mean- other than these guys are all paying homage to their master by imitating him? And it gets double points for being a color that actually hurts people's eyes?

6. There's definitely a Mar a Lago look for Trump admirers.

I noticed it in DC at a recent conference. There's a lot of Botox and facial fillers - on men and women, including quite young people - plus it looked like everybody is on weight loss drugs and they all have fake tans. They're all dressed in suits and ties (men) or skirt suits and dresses with heels (women).

It's kind of retro looking with an uncanny valley effect. Almost reptilian.

It seems to be a kind of youth worship and a hyper-competitive look at me my skin's even smoother than yours. It doesn't look healthy.

I found it repellent.

Many of the GOP suits are much cheaper and many of them look cheaper. Probably in the $300-$1000 range. The tailoring is often sloppy, even for the supposedly bespoke / custom versions. Poor fit seems the norm.
