Social media reaction was swift and furious Tuesday after President Donald Trump posted a Truth Social message telling Vladimir Putin he has protected the Russian president from "really bad things."
"What Vladimir Putin doesnt realize is that if it werent for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD," Trump wrote. "Hes playing with fire!"
The Bulwark's Sam Stein expressed his incredulity on X, posting, "Trump just casually telling everyone he's been helping out Putin?" while anti-Trump Republican group The Lincoln Project declared, "There it is. Trump confirms what we've said all along - he's been protecting Putin this entire time."

To the Republican controlled US Senate not once but twice that had the means and the power to impeach this traitor and the US Supreme Court........... you gave this traitor immunity, so when things like this come out you and your Federalist Society lackies can pound sand........you have innocent lives from Ukraine deaths on your hands..........

(5,579 posts)The last "declared war" we had? I think it was WWII. Everything else has been called anything BUT a declared war... but soldiers fighting and a country being destroyed by that firepower is a war, no matter how you call it. Also, in modernity, we have to look beyond physical acts of war and destruction and move on to the types of war that can harm us even more -- computer espionage, terrorism, and exploits.

(42,421 posts)"We begin bombing in five minutes..."
From Wikipedia...
"We begin bombing in five minutes" is the last sentence of a controversial, off-the-record joke made by U.S. President Ronald Reagan in 1984, during the Cold War. While preparing for a scheduled radio address from his vacation home in California, Reagan joked with those present about outlawing and bombing Russia. The joke was not broadcast live, but was recorded and later leaked to the public. The Soviet Union criticized the joke, as did Reagan's opponent in the 1984 United States presidential election, Walter Mondale.
The Republican party has always been ready to call Russia the enemy. Until just recently.

(516 posts)Is arrogant, stupid and traitorous. His party still lacks the moral courage and integrity to stand up to this vile and dangerous man. Is it their own greed and lust that stops them or does it just reflect the nature of their own essence. Future generations will look back at these times as the beginning of the dissolution of humanity.

(239 posts)...what makes it not be treason. It is also why Vladimir hasn't changed anything he is doing. He knows there is no sword of Damocles that the Orange Idiot is keeping from coming down on him--partly because you have to feel like the Kremlin has eyes and ears on everything the dolt does through being so incredibly careless and stupid about everything.
If anyone knows the BS that is flowing out of the Whitehouse it is Putin.
